Many years ago one of my first pictures was with the same view. I didn't know where is it. It didn't seem to me smth. Just a beautiful view. And now it's part of my life. Every evening I see when the sun sets behind these mountains. It becomes my main reference point of the island.

This landscape is love at first sight. Millions of shades of green are found in the olive grove and are adorned with vibrant yellow flowers. Spring in Sicily is just like that for me! The air is full of aromas of flowering citruses, unrealistically green young grass pleases the eye, and picturesque silvery olives are illuminated with golden flowers.

Let my paintings from the political flower collection "Sicilian Flowers speak" tell for me what my soul is screaming about.

Crying mimosa

This is a strange and scary time. Citizens of Russia will be punished up to 15 years in prison for calling for an end to the war and supporting Ukrainians.
But I cannot keep silent. I have Russian citizenship. But my mom was born in Ukraine, and my dad and most of my grandparents are Ukrainians. I cannot speak out about anything without endangering the health and lives of our relatives in Russia.
But I am an artist living in blessed Sicily. Therefore, let my new painting from the political flower collection "Sicilian Flowers speak" tell for me what my heart is crying about.

"La trahison de l'art" or "It's not so clear"

In a dialogue with the great Rene Magritte, I have painted a new oil painting in the political collection "Sicilian Flowers Speak"
"Everything is not so simple," say the Russians, who do not have the strength to face the truth. They will talk about NATO, about how America is to blame and "we were forced." But there is only one fact. On February 24, early in the morning, peaceful cities of Ukraine began to be bombed, as once upon a time in June. It was started by someone absolutely certain. And this is a shameful and bloody milestone that will remain forever in our history.

What happened?

My new painting from the political collection "Sicilian Flowers Speak" is called "What Happened". This is a homage to Van Gogh's sunflowers.
Mobilization has begun in Russia, the economic consequences of sanctions are felt more and more strongly, and finally, the Z-patriots have woken up. But not to the end. They ask "what happened"? And why did all those who called for the bombing of Ukrainian cities and talked about how the Russians would defeat everyone not volunteer but hide? Women who said that the Ukrainians themselves deserved all this by electing their president are now wondering: why is my husband/brother/father now obliged to go to die in the war? I am ashamed that, when they learn about the death of their relatives, they curse Ukraine, not the ones who started this war.
And the war is going on, and millions of peaceful people are left without heating and electricity right now without an elementary opportunity to warm and feed their little babies. Don't let this important news drown in the informational noise.

They delighted the whole world with their courage, peacefulness and kindness. Such a wonderful people will definitely have a happy future without a potato führer.

Almond blossoms with truth

In those days when a criminal case is opened in Russia for the free distribution of Orwell's book "1984"... And even the old woman survivor of the siege of Saint Petersburg in the second world war is arrested at protests... one must be incredibly brave to dare to speak. I sincerely admire such people.
Russians in different countries who oppose the war come out to protest with a white-blue-white flag. It's like the Russian tricolour flag, but without the red bloody stripe. They propose to make it the flag of the "beautiful Russia of the future"

I created it from life after harvesting olives this year. And, oh my God, how gorgeous they are. And what a wonderful oil is made from olives in a small factory in the mountains near Caccamo... Sicilian olives and oil made from them are the best in the world and, believe me, this is love forever

Hyacinth painting

It's one of the floral paintings on canvas with the purple hyacinth created on plein air. When I was looking for still life ideas I was highly inspired by old masters still life oil painting. But I wanted to add some contemporary updates, I didn't want to create another garden painting.

So in places, the untouched rough linen canvas emphasises the delicacy of the flower painting

So once between the photos of old floral paintings on canvas, I met old postcards with vintage botanical art.

I don't know if all hibiscus does this, but my little hibiscus gives life for every flower for only 1 day. Therefore, when today I saw 2 flowers at once, I realized that today I must draw them. And in my opinion, it turned out amazing.

To be honest, I don't have any favourite car brands amongst the modern ones, in fact, I don't particularly distinguish between them. But there are a lot of really stunningly beautiful retro cars.

And in my desire to capture the beauty in all its forms, I can't resist occasionally capturing another beautiful vintage car on canvas.

I must confess that antique British cars have a special place in my heart.
Today meet a British-American legend car 1965 Shelby Cobra AC.
It was one of the fastest cars available at the time.

I'm working on some iconic car paintings not to make some famous car paintings. I paint them to create a retro car painting and express my admiration for the perfect beauty of the design, and touch upon the enchanting history associated with each of my old car paintings.

This Shelby Cobra art will take its rightful place in my collection of retro car art.
